Sometime next week, I'm making available PM (private messaging) and email updates. For those that don't know what each feature does, he's a little rundown:
Private Messaging - You'll be able to send a private message to other users within the forum without anyone else viewing it besides the user you sent it to.
Email Notification - When you make a post or start a thread, you'll be notified via email when the thread is updated. I really like this feature, as I post on a lot of forums and I'd rather be notified when its been updated, rather checking it every 10 minutes. You'll be able to turn this feature off too if its something you don't find useful.
Other security features being added are for new members. We'll be adding a CAPTCHA system for new members when they post. What this means is that when a new member registers and starts a new thread, before they can post the new topic, they'll have to enter in a series of letters. This will only happen to new members on their first post. After the initial post, the CAPTCHA will be removed.
If I find people trying to game this security installment, I have a few other security measures I can add, but this should keep the coding spammers away for a decent while.

Cool. I'm glad that we aren't going to be able to be easily hacked. I like the email thing as well! __________________9.30.04

The e-mail notification thing isn't something I particularly ever liked, but I'm glad that it's an option to have it on or off. Good additions though, keep it up Adam. __________________Please try to stay on topic. Cheers.

Haha, indeed it is quite the nice place to be when you're bored. Or even if you're not. __________________Please try to stay on topic. Cheers.

I don't like the email notification. Especially considering I get enough email as it is. Oh well, like I said though, it's good we can choose whether or not we want them. Props to Adam. Now if we can just get that Private Messaging system up __________________Please try to stay on topic. Cheers.

why have private messaging...if you've got something to say, do it so everyone can see it and no troubles start.

Private messaging is good because it gives two people a chance to talk about something that isn't relevant for the board. Like what their interests are. If we have everyone on this board talking about their favorite colors and foods and what shoes they wore the other day, the board would be nothing but meaningless clutter and a little bit of information. __________________Please try to stay on topic.
