Okay, so what are some of your favorite indie bands? Where do you buy your indie music most often?

My favorite Indie band is the Arctic Monkeys in their album Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not. I like the songs because it's absolutely classic. You better hear it!

Weezer's "Blue Album" was amazing in my opinion. i think they were definitely before their time. has anybody heard "Blue" or "Pinkerton" albums and have opinions?

Yeah, Blue and Pinkerton were good albums, but Green was kind of...lacking.

I like The Shins quite a bit ever since I saw Garden State.  That soundtrack is so beautiful.

The Smyrk
Death From Above 1979

-and more mainstream-
Agent Sparks
Flyleaf
The Hush Sound

----------
I highly recommend The Smyrk and Death From Above 1979... Buy whatever you can by them, it will not disappoint! They are both insanely addictive and simply astounding! (Incubus led me to both of them)

The others are a more acquired taste... they all grew on me over time, although I'm not a big female lead singer fan...

Aside from Incubus being the top band at this point in my life...My favorite indie band would be Aulta. They bring their own attitude to their music, and they actually remind me alot of Incubus......not saying they sound exactly like them or anything but there are some similarities. Highly recommend Aulta!!!!!

Another band I really dig is The Black Summer Crush. Has anyone heard of them?? They have this new sound thats crazy! It's like acid 70's rock mixed with garage and a pieces of modern rock sounds. They're kinda a mix of The Beatles, Wolfmother and Zeppelin. I recommend the song "I Want More" it just gets your heart pumping!

hey noticethelotus...I totally agree with you about Weezer's Blue Album.  I think it was a complete masterpiece along with Pinkerton too which unfortunately is kind of treated like the red headed stepchild album of the weezer discography. As for new bands, I would have to say that I am very in to this called "The Cab." They are along the lines of the American Rejects but a little more mellow.  Another band would have to be The Scientific Lifestyle...these guys are incredible and how did you hear about them popping12ock??? I thought they were still pretty underground but I guess I was wrong, they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

Yea, I was just browsing youtube and came across, Scienitific Lifestyle video. They got some pretty chill music, I got say.

Yeah they are def something new to check out.  Check out "glee slipper" on their website, it's a single waiting to happen.  Back to Weezer...they definitely went downhill after the Green album, I think Rivers kind of forgot what Weezer was all about. I too got into the Shins after Garden State became one of my favorite movies of all time.  Great placement for the band huh? can't do much better than that.

I agree with the earlier poster, The People's Party is a great indie band. Unlike a lot of other indie bands which are kind of boring the have great energy.

I looove the Peoples Party!

You guys should check out Karmina, they're good!

Just checked out People's Party, not bad stuff.  Hippy Hop?? That's hilarious, that's a great term to coin.
